Katie Auletti-Smith

Katie Auletti-Smith is from Wilmington and started dancing at the age of 4 with Arleen and Donna School of Dance. She moved to Asheboro where she obtained her photography degree and interned with Lois Greenfield in New York who is a very famous Dance photographer. Katie is Carolina Dance Masters Certified in ballet and jazz and has been trained in tap, hip-hop, lyrical, contemporary, shag, and musical theater. She has trained, studied and taken classes with teachers such as Linda Kalnen, Candy Brooks, Noelle Marsh (from So You Think You Can Dance), Katy Spreadbury, Ashley Canterra (from the movie Step Up), Mr Dance of DMA Alex Anderson, Jeanette Thagard Kiefer just to name a few. Katie is also involved with Thalian Hall and has been in productions of Wonderful Town and A Christmas Carol and was the dance captain for Singing in the Rain. She has had the privilege of choreographing Music Man Jr and 101 Dalmatians for the TACT program at Thalian Hall. Also through Thalian, Katie teaches outreach dance classes for the Girls and Boys Club and with the Boys and Girls Brigade of Wilmington. Katie has completed level one of Teachers Training School in Buffalo, NY for Dance Masters of America. She has been teaching for over 19 years and loves to teach kids of all ages. Her dance routines and students have won numerous awards at competitions around the state. Ms. Katie's motto is " you are never to old to learn something new" and she's here to teach us all something new!
